My cyber alter ego is Amethystine, taken from the novel “Possession” that I’ve read a long, long time ago. In real life I go by the nickname Shane. I’m a twenty-ish mom who graduated Business Administration major in E-Commerce but regretting that I should have taken Fine Arts or Culinary Arts instead.

After working as a web copywriter and SEO Specialist for 3 years, I’ve decided to become a full-time homemaker. I can’ t tell if I’m going back to the corporate world again, but for now I’m focusing on taking care of my family. For those who think that a homemaker’s job is a breeze, better think again.

A little about my personality: I’m a certified internet junkie and eclecticism is my philosophy. I’m a laid-back kind of person; relaxed but not lazy. I have terrible mood swings and I think my husband finds it both challenging and amusing.

My interests include food, shopping, books, movies, anime, and video games. Recent addictions? Yes – sushi, dark chocolates, dresses, nail polishes, self-help books, The Vampire Diaries, Tumblr, and obviously, blogging.

It was year 2002 or 2003 when I started blogging. I had my personal thoughts published in LiveJournal and Tabulas. In 2008, I created Fashion Flick, a fashion blog, that led me to embrace blogging as a passion.

I never considered myself as a professional writer. I didn’t have an extensive training in the past, except for a few proofreading sessions and writing awards back in high school and a year of working as a web copywriter after I graduated college. Hence, the title “The Blogger”.

This website, Purple Pieces, was created last April 22, 2010. Aside from sharing my experiences, I want to give readers complete and honest information regarding their subject of choice.

Why Purple Pieces? I’m fixated with the color Purple.
