We went to the Gundam Caravan Event last month held at the 3rd floor of SM City North EDSA. The whole day event was attended by Gunpla enthusiasts, toy collectors, and anime fans. One of the highlights of the event was the Gundam Model Kit Contest.
My husband builds and collects Gundam models. He already owns a few and one of them was gifted by me, a Gundam 00 Raiser.
There was an exhibit of Gundam models for the viewers. Gundam model kits are a bit expensive, especially the large scale models.
Gunpla was coined from “Gundam Plastic Model” and it means “the practice of building gundam models rather than the models themselves.” – wikipedia.org
Gundam Building and Detailing Contest (13 years old and above). My husband was given a model kit to build. When the contest was over, he took home the model for free.
Zaiel, daddy’s assistant.
My husband’s entry. The Gundam event is still ongoing, just check out their Facebook page at the end of this blog entry for mall schedules.
There were a couple of Gunpla pits to encourage free play for kids.
Capsule stations were also present during the event. We received a couple of capsule toys as freebies.
These Tamagotchi key chains are so kawaii!
