The Revelation: I am 5 Weeks Pregnant

Blue Cross Pregnancy Test

May 5, 2009. I told Ray about my delayed period and nausea during the day. I bought one Blue Cross Pregnancy Test for less than a hundred bucks and met up with him at a mall. Right then and there we were dumbfounded after seeing the “2 strips”.

May 6, 2009. Experts say that the first pee in the morning is more accurate when doing pregnancy tests. The result is still the same – POSITIVE.

May 7, 2009. We’ve decided to have it confirmed by a doctor. We visited In My Womb Ultrasound Center in SM Megamall. We paid Php 1,200.00 for a Transvaginal Ultrasound.

We were told that I was 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant, and that there was no fetal pole yet. However, there was an existing yolk sac. My pregnancy is 50/50 – it depends on the baby if it will continue to develop or not. The only good sign is the yolk sac because its presence means something is being fed (FYI, yolk sacs give nourishment to fetuses). Maybe my baby is too small to be seen yet. So I was advised to come back after two weeks for fetal viability.

I was so worried I even fainted while we were waiting for a taxi cab on our way home.
