KKV just opened at SM City North Edsa, and it’s an adorable place for retail therapy. It’s a lifestyle store with a fashion & beauty section, snacks & beverages, and there are also a variety of toys and collectibles for hobbyists.
I started building DIY book nooks a couple of years ago. Miniature house kits give me satisfaction once they’re finished, and they’re cute. In this modern world wherein we consume short-form videos that, in the long run, make our attention span decline, I need something that will improve my focus and have fun at the same time.
My husband bought me this Rolife DIY Miniature House at KKV SM North Edsa. Price is around PhP 1,800. As somebody who’s fond of fantasy worlds and witches, I chose The Magic Study, a cute little witchcraft room.

This DIY house kit is high-quality. The pieces are more polished compared to the booknook that I built a few months ago. The instruction booklet is easy to understand, and the pieces are grouped into batches. There are also silica gels to help absorb moisture and keep the pieces in good condition.

For arts and crafts, I use Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue. I bought it from Shopee. It’s currently out of stock at the store where I bought it from, so try searching for other suppliers online. Tools like tweezers and double-sided stickies are already included in the box, so you’re good to go. I also have a small hammer (you’ll need one!) to secure wooden pieces together and ensure everything is holding up.

I had a hard time securing some pieces together, but I guess that’s what makes this hobby super fun. I almost broke the owl stand and the hook for the purple flower totally snapped into two, but I had it fixed using the tacky glue.
My favorite section in the magic study would be the table with the mini cauldron and the crystal ball on top. I let every piece dry up first before attaching or placing them in their designated areas. I also needed to file some corners to make them fit seamlessly.
Here’s the Rolife DIY Miniature House – The Magic Study – complete with lighting fixtures. It doesn’t come with a transparent cover, so I’ve placed it in a glass shelf.
