My husband and I were at Scholastic Summer Warehouse Sale last May 9 and we were amazed to see loads and loads of children’s books and activity items — all on SALE!
From the main gate, we walked to get inside the warehouse until we saw the ‘Warehouse Clearance Sale’ banner.
The tent area houses the cheapest books — 20 pesos each. I didn’t save enough money for this clearance sale, but next year I’ll try to hoard as many books as possible. But first, I’m going to dispose some old books to make space for new ones.
We went inside and found mooooooooooooore books. Book stores and libraries excite me, and this place was no exception. Shelves were crammed with books for toddlers, kids, tweens, and teenagers. Oh, what joy! All books were also discounted, from 25% to 80% off.
Harry Potter books were almost half the price! I have only read one book from the HP series, the first book, which I borrowed from our college library. The other books were not always available (nasa pahiraman, hindi mabakante!). I will never be too old to finish all the books, right? 🙂
Encyclopedias and activity items were on huge discounts. Take for example the Grolier collections, from PhP 5,250 down to PhP 1,500! Mom used to buy us encyclopedias and they’re still sitting in our bookshelves. My kids already own three sets.
Thank you Ms. Amaris Mallare for choosing me as a partner for this summer sale. I received a gift bag from Scholastic and also a voucher for free books. These 5 books amounted to PhP 1,275 and I got them for free! I also received a free book from the gift bag, Crazy Hair Day by Barney Saltzberg, so that’s six free books in total!

Let’s encourage our kids to read more by offering them plenty of good books to enjoy. Take advantage of book fairs and warehouse sales so you can spend less on great titles. The Scholastic Sizzling Summer Sale is until May 24. Only 4 days left, so hurry!

What a great book haul! It’s really too bad we missed it. I hope they organize a warehouse sale again soon.
Wow! Scholastic is very generous. I can’t believe they were discounting books! I also went there before and the books were really nice. My daughters loved them.
I really want to go here, I just don’t have time. I love buying books for my girls.

It’s so sad na nasa pasig siya, masyado malayo sa place namin.. I hope that there’s a next year para mapag ipunan ko siya and so I can get my own collection of the HP books na rin! 🙂
Oh, I’ve been so busy with summer plans that I’ve totally forgotten about this sale. I plan to visit by the 23rd, hopefully I’ll be able to,. Nice haul by the way. And please, read the Harry Potter series, haha. I’m a big fan of HP, I might have read the whole series like 5 times, no kidding, lol.
